As we continue our national park visits, we pick up at our second park unit visit of the day at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. We had a goal of seeing a lighthouse and we did it. Working on the Junior Ranger booklet prior to our visit helped us learn more about the park and let us spend more time exploring. As Quinn was not tall enough to enter the lighthouse, Chris and Natasha took the challenge of hiking to the top of Cape Hatteras. Meghan and Quinn stayed back and explored the lighthouse keepers quarters. We all learned about the history and importance of this lighthouse and even why they had to move it in 1999. Natasha earned her second badge and Quinn earned her 15th Junior Ranger Badge.
After our visit to Cape Hatteras, we took a quick trip to Bodie Lighthouse Station on the way back home. The girls napped but we got passports stamped. Enjoy the photos!
