We stop for brown signs!
On our way to the Outer Banks, we stopped for lunch and then took a quick detour to the Stonewall Jackson Shrine, just a few miles away. Though it was a quick visit, we did get a quick tour of where Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson died on the Chandler Plantation, which is now park of Frederick & Spotsylvania National Military Park. Through our tour of the home, we were able to see the bed that Jackson died in. The park rangers were very kind and gave Quinn some NPS trading cards. This is Quinn’s 29th NPS unit. There wasn’t a Junior Ranger program at this site, but we will be sure to visit other parts of the military park as it is not too far from our home. Enjoy photos from our quick trip!
